Bellringing at Christ Church

Bellringing at Christ Church

At Christ Church we have been bellringing since 1853 when the first six bells were installed. A further two were added in 1950. Made of a bronze alloy this makes bellringing one of the earliest heavy metal bands!

To keep this heritage skill alive, and the Esher band ringing, we are always in need of new ringers.

If you are looking for an activity that will exercise your mind and body within a team environment, then do come along and try it out. You do not have to be super fit or strong (far from it) or even musical, but you must be able to climb the 56 tower steps up to the ringing chamber and count to eight - we have eight bells!

Our practice nights are Wednesdays at 7.30 - 9.00pm and car parking is available in the Christ Church car park.

If you are interested in having a go please contact our Tower Captain, Ann Battensby, at ann@annbattensby.com, or the Parish Office at office@esherparish.org.uk

Look forward to hearing from anyone interested. The more the merrier!
