'Ancient & Modern': celebration of hymnody to mark the arrival of our new parish hymn books
We shall be saying goodbye to the green hymn books which have served us for two decades, and bringing our new red hymn books into use.
The events will follow a BBC ‘Songs of Praise’ style format: selected members of our church community will introduce their favourite hymns, we will get a taste of one or two new items from the red books and there will be some hearty communal singing to enjoy!
Many of you have generously helped towards the purchase of these hymn books with individual sponsorship. This is your opportunity to be the first person to use the actual book or books you have sponsored, to see the bookplate inscriptions and to formally present the book to the parish in order for it to do regular duty in our worship services.
